This short film can be watched here: Shadows (2015)
I get the concept and I think that the issue of elderly loneliness being addressed is a real epidemic, but I think that the film just doesn't work. It's a mood piece where the viewer basically watches a dark screen and tries to make out what is happening while a lady is obviously sad and alone. I got that in the first 3 minutes---I did not need 17 more minutes of the same thing. An honest suggestion would be to get a cat (or a few) or a dog. My neighbor, who we visit often, is 90, lives alone but her dog is the main joy in her life. It gives her purpose and reason and brings her happiness.
Thank you to Letterboxd friend, seth (who sadly no longer follows me), for getting this on my Friend’s Short Film Project Watchlist
