I love domestic-dramas, especially if they depict sister relationships. This show takes place in 70’s and it feels so relatable for its period. All the reasons why I loved it.

Sometimes girlhood can be way more complicated than you think

Wow… just wow… Kore-eda really is the best to ever do it in TV too man. The master of the family drama and I mean the true master is back at it again with his Asura adaptation, and my god it is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Probably a top 3 live action Japanese show ever. You can easily tell which of the sisters are more like their mom and dad, and man this show makes you hate some of them a lot at times. The scene with Makiko and Yoko in the final episode was absolutely peak of his powers Kore-eda. If you think Kore-eda has fallen off you’re dumb. He’s never stopped being the GOAT at what he does.
