Pinky Malinky is a literal hot dog and somehow has better emotional resilience than most adults with health insurance.
The mockumentary format gives the show a bizarre little rhythm, especially when Pinky's aggressively positive worldview collides with Babs' bluntness and JJ's nervous energy. Some episodes are genuinely clever—“Secret” turns hiding a TV obsession into a ridiculous little character study, while “Spotlight” actually lets Babs and JJ step outside Pinky's orbit. But 60 episodes also means you eventually hit the “okay girl, we are doing this AGAIN?” stretch. Cute, weird, occasionally hilarious, occasionally disposable. A sausage with a heart of gold, unfortunately attached to a show that sometimes feels like it ran out of mustard. 🌭😭
