Obsession
Some of the best writing of the year. Perfect horror film.
edit: It's rare that a film really reinvigorates my love for films and acting and this one did. The fact that a film can make you feel SO uncomfortable is incredible to me. Especially with this being an indie film, it just makes it that much more effective to me, knowing that it only costed $750 mil and took 26 days to shoot. The performance by Inde was perfectly haunting and everything from the music to the makeup enhanced the horror so much. I personally think the writing was great, it showed just how delusional everyone in the friend group was and how obsessed Bear was. I also love when the main character is also the main antagonist so bonus points for that. There was never a dull moment and as awkward as the dialogue was at times, it ultimately added to the overall unsettling atmosphere of the film which makes it a plus in my book. The goal of the film was to make you feel uneasy and uncomfortable and it did that to a tee. The only minor hole was Ian coming back to Bears house at the end, as if Bear hadn't literally witnessed the money falling from the ceiling (not big enough a hole for me to take any points off).
