Perfect Blue

"Nobody cares for you anymore. You're tarnished and you're filthy." everytime i watch this movie i keep getting something new out of it, im pretty sure this is my 4th time seeing this and it really is the best animated movie to ever exist. watching this at 2am in pure darkness is probably the best experience u can have besides watching it in the cinema, the atmosphere is like unmatched in this movie. the animation in this holds up well in my opinion, obviously there's some pretty outdated scenes but even so i think the animation holds up well for the most parts and actually adds to the eerie and surreal vibe that this movie conveys perfectly. the plot of this movie is just so incredible, it's so influential, it even inspired black swan which happens to be a lot more popular than this masterpiece, not better tho. i don't even know if this makes sense, but silent hill f really does remind me of this movie is so many ways whether it's in terms of its atmosphere or just its themes of unreliable realities and obsession. they're also both fragmented psychological horrors and when i was playing silent hill f i couldn't help but keep thinking about this movie and it's a big part of why i even rewatched this tonight. the pacing of this movie is incredible and the way it's controlled is amazing, the first half is this slow eerie mystery/thriller then the second half is like a quick, snappy psychological slasher which i love to see in a horror movie. i have this on a steelbook bluray and the quality is just amazing, the sound was especially perfect because of that amazing soundtrack, this has one of my favourite soundtracks in any movie it just adds so much to the movie and i don't think this was be as good without the soundtrack. the ending of this movie is greatly ambiguous and it gives us a great amount of answers yet questions about the reality mima is living with, whether or not if she's still torn between her identity.  amazing movie
