Sinners
"You know something? Maybe once a week, I wake up paralyzed reliving that night. But before the sun went down, I think that was the best day of my life. Was it like that for you?"
"No doubt about it. Last time I seen my brother. Last time I seen the sun. And just for a few hours, we was free."
yea this movie is just THAT good. definitely my favourite movie of 2025, and the fact that this will most likely be snubbed at the oscar is just so disappointing. i was so hyped for this when the trailers were releasing and ill never forget that day at the cinema when it first came out, i was mind blown because this movie isn't just ur average vampire/horror/thriller movie. its an amazing exploration of the significance and impact of music and an amazing exploration of faith and how ur past haunts u. i love the dialogue in this movie, it's just so like fluent, every actors delivery of the lines is just great. i love how it switches aspect ratio throughout, when its on the aspect ratio that fills the entire screen, u just know ur about to experience some beauty. the soundtrack to this is perhaps the most important soundtrack in any movie, i love how it's apart of the movies themes of sin and spiritualism and how it also adds into its big massive message of the cultural significance of the blues. this movie is actually genre defining, u will never ever see a movie like this unless u count from dusk till dawn but the thing is, sinners ain't just about the vampires. ryan coogler is a great director and i hope we can see more original films from him because this is a genuine masterpiece of cinema and i don't think we will ever see anything in modern cinema on the level of this ever again. the ending of this movie is so bittersweet and i love sammies conclusion.
amazing movie
