"Why are we afraid of the first time? Every day in life is a first time. Every morning is new. We never live the same day twice. We're never afraid of getting up every morning. Why?"
i finally got to see my favourite movie in the cinema and what a fucking experience, this is just one of the most meaningful and unforgettable experiences and movies ever, so much depth and layers to each individual shot and dialogue. edward yang was truly a genius at filmmaking and he truly died too soon (rip), i love this movie so fucking much and this rewatch fully cemented it for me, lately i've been rewatching my favourite movies or just movies i felt like i didn't fully grasp the first time and watching this again made me realise that i rlly did miss so much despite my love for it, it completely went over my head about yang yangs feelings and how isolated he is compared to the rest of the family and how the dad is all about the "what if's" and how nothing is good enough until he finally realises. i love this movie so fucking much. the cinematography is just outstandingly breathtaking and some of those scenes in 4k were just out of this world, that scene of NJ in the apartment smoking was just so beautiful. the ending of this never fails to get my all emotional, i love yang yangs speech and how it shows how oblivious he is yet how smart he actually is, i love his conflicts with the truth and what he doesn't know. this is probably the most quotable movie ever btw, so much scenes with these interesting and meaningful quotes. honestly it's just so fucking amazing. i just can't get over the beauty and the meaning of this movie. this movie is just everything i want in a movie. this movie also started my love for family dramas and this will most likely always be my favourite movie ever and thank god i stumbled upon this in the cinema. truly the best movie ever in my opinion.
amazing movie
