The Master
One movie from every year
#3 - 2012
i’ve had a guilty conscience over my opinions of this movie when i watched it earlier this year. you see, i thought this movie was just plain and simple- an alright movie. i felt as though the story being pushed only by characters with little to no plot was something that couldnt interest me. but i’ve had a lot of thoughts after watching, watching and reading things that inspired the movie V. by Thomas Pynchon and watching a documentary of sailors being interviewed. i was pain and simple, enthralled by the movie and it continued to interest me every day, amazing performances from literally everyone on set and cinematography that makes you awe and wonder how some of these mundane actions look so beautiful. what i picked up from V. was that Profane, like Freddy, is a person who reacts on instinct and nothingmore. it also reminds me a whole lot about Chainsaw Man, ill say that i didnt like the anime whatsoever, but the message is very prevalent in how a person being introduced to a world- being built upon by it and having so few and little to trust can lead to Freddy and Master’s relationship.
if you didnt like this movie on a first watch, Give it another try.
