Bring Her Back
as the eldest child who is the main caretaker of a disabled sibling i connected with andy instantly. i never insert myself into movies as i watch them but i couldn’t help but watch and feel everything andy felt as though it were happening to me in real time.
laura made me sick. i found myself with my head in my hands multiple times, sick to my stomach with her actions. her actions all driven by love. it’s grotesque and horrible and raw and honest and devastating. as was the betrayals done against the human body. the gore and self inflicted violence was unforgiving as was the emotions each and every character felt. it feels like the air being squeezed out of you right up until the credits roll.
i think if i was anyone else i wouldn’t have been so touched (and disturbed) by this movie. amazing but would not watch again unless i want to hurt myself
