Dune: Part Two

After watching it a second time all I can say: As it was written! This is absolutely amazing and does everything pretty much perfectly. One thing that struck me was the amazing sound design/editing, in scenes like the final duel and just ornithopters flying the sound just sucks you in and creates this incredibly real feeling. If I had to complain about something, I mean I didn’t give it a five star so I must (though that could change any minute), it would be that Chani’s beliefs would take a bit more of a spotlight. It would give the final act a greater punch if her ideology was explained in greater detail in the first half of the movie. I don’t think an extra five or then minutes would have hurt the pacing particularly. If Chani would been give just slightly more dialogue, maybe even a little monologue in the first half of the film the that final scene before the credits roll would have become even more hard hitting. I haven’t read the source material though so I shall not say to much on this topic. From some great performances, to some actually good comedy, to amazing CGI and production design this movie just slaps! A great watch and I will watch with great interest as one of our strongest prospects keep creating such masterpieces, keep doing what you do Denis!
