Absolutely essential viewing in the war genre. The Thin Red Line is the dictionary definition of a hauntingly beautiful movie. Not only is this in my opinion the most well shot war film ever made, it’s in the conversation for the most well shot film of all time period. Malick really creates the most picturesque films, already in the few films I’ve seen from him, he’s one of the best directors to ever live. Pair the heavenly visuals with the slow, methodically dreamlike story and add on top a Hanz Zimmer score and you get a masterpiece of the genre. 10/10
