Interstellar
[IMAX]
I went into this really bummed that the theater here in Nashville that sowed Oppenheimer, Tenet and Dune: Part Two in 70mm didn’t do it for Interstellar. But still seeing this film in IMAX was a spiritual experience.
Although I rewatched it early this year already, seeing it in IMAX really made me loved this film even more. At the moment, I have Interstellar at my 4th favorite Nolan film, behind Oppenheimer, The Dark Knight and Memento, but this is literally as perfect as a film can get. I could go all day about the cinematography and Hans Zimmer’s INCREDIBLE score, but the story is just really emotionally impacted me this time around. I was fighting back tears during every melancholic moment, and I think Matthew McConnaughey’s performance is what drives that feeling. Such an incredible film, I could go on to say this is a masterpiece in filmmaking. 10 years ago and we haven’t seen a non-Nolan film like this. It cements Christopher Nolan as one of the greatest directors of all time as well as Jonathan Nolan as one of the greatest screenwriters of all time.
