mastapiece Darren Aronofsky fucking KNOWS how to stress his viewers out. I'm convinced he can make anything stressful with his direction. Combine that and Clint Mansell's score, and you got yourself something incredible. Just like requiem for a dream, the score is absolutely haunting. That madlad Clint Mansell somehow made the swan lake theme horrifying. I didn't think that these two legends could make a better movie than requiem for a dream yet here we are, this is somehow a more powerful movie in my eyes. Couldn't have thought of a better casting choice than Natalie Portman in this role either. Incredibly glad she won the Oscar for this. What an absolutely fearless performance from her. I kinda get the perfect blue similarities but man did that movie walk so this could FLY. I like anime don't get me wrong but telling a story like this feels so much more cinematic when presented in live action.
