Into the Wild
Into the wild, a movie based off the life of Chris McCandless. An American adventurer who decided to drop it all to live a life of adventure in the alaskan wilderness even though he had a promising future ahead of him. The college degree didn’t matter, life did. The materialism and toxicity in his life was something he obviously really didn’t like, a quote from him reads “So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security…” the movie does a fantastic job of showing him and his life, it didn’t shame or glorify him, it understood him. The pacing is well, the adventures are glorious, and the views are majestic, his interactions with people across Alaska is beautiful. You wanna know what happens to Chris throughout the story, it’s very interesting. And it’s special, it feels good. The overall theme and aesthetic of the movie is done very well. Don’t die before watching this movie.
“If you want something in this life, reach out and grab it.”
