Phantom Thread

I cannot get this movie out of my head. The cinematography, combined with the lush musical score, immediately captivated me. The plot is so beautifully dark and never fails to make me think. What happens when a man obsessed with control, perfection, and routine falls in love with a woman who refuses to submit? Two people on complete opposite ends of the spectrum find a compromise—no matter how sick or twisted—to make the relationship work. The movie begs the question: If one sacrifices conventional morality for a sustainability and harmony that preserves a love that fulfills them—is this the greatest form of intimacy, or the ultimate form of mutual destruction? This movie is my new obsession.
