Ritual
“perhaps anyone will do, as long as that someone will love me constantly, ceaselessly, it will suffice”
to love is to devote oneself to someone entirely. the act of really, truly, loving someone is so strong that one will prioritize it over anything else. the only force that has ever mattered is love. the only thing that ever matters to anyone is who they choose to love.
“your heart says I’m okay”
to desire love is the most selfish thing a human can ask for. all humans know what it feels like to love. they know the feeling of wanting to prioritize someone over anything else. for someone to want another to devote their entire being to them? that cannot be simply desired. wanting love out of another person is an impossible ask.
“i’m lonely. i know that’s selfish of me”

*“why are you so nice to me?”
*
to anyone who believes the above is true, i recommend this movie. not with the hopes that it will reinforce your believes, but with the hopes that it will prove you wrong. the desire of love is not selfish.
“all we really know is that tomorrow we’ll still be together”
it is simply selfish to exist. exist for yourself. exist for others. exist to desire. exist to love. but do not exist to be alone. when one is alone, it is as if they never existed at all.
