Hazbin Hotel

I can't believe I'm actually logging this but here we are. I only watched this show because some of my closest friends liked it. One of them introducing me to Bojack Horseman, Smiling Friends, Undertale and Deltarune so anything they recommend I partake. I know this is just for the pilot but this will be a full review of season 1 (when all of season 2 is up il add to it). From the pilot alone you can sense what the style of the show its. A campy adult animated musical dark comedy which sounds really weird when put together and I definitely admire what Medrano was going for and to be fair it was executed just about. The pilot is a pretty entertaining watch however it already brings up the main problems that many people have issues with. The main one being the humour just being sex and gay jokes. While I didn't find the pilot (or the main show) funny in particular it isn't offensively terrible. I get its jarring and it gets old really quick but what did you expect the humour to be like? Most if not all adult animated shows make sex jokes all the time not as much as this show but still. Adult animation having sex jokes is like saying that water is clear. Along with the gay Jokes. The creator is a member or the LGBTQ+ community it just makes sense. Don't get me wrong it can get annoying and again its not a particularly funny show its just not as bad as I was expecting. Anyway season 1 as a whole is definitely interesting. As all tv shows usually go (especially animation) the first season can feel quite messy and disorganised as it is trying to create a world in limited time but to be fair they did pretty good establishing hell. You can tell what it wants to be (gay and horny). Character wise they are all very unique and have there own quirks but they all didn't get equal treatment and time to develop which again is usually a season 1 issue. Overall Hazbin Hotel Season 1 was a pretty decent enough show that pleasantly suprised me. It entertained me and that's good. It ain't that funny but the animation is sick so it balances out. I just realised I didn't talk about the songs. There usually decent. There's a few that aren't overwhelmingly good but most of them are entertaining. The best one in season one is easily "Loser,Baby" which is BANGER. Currently only half of Season 2 is out and so far its much better than the state Season 1 was in (which was still decent if not kinda forgetful at its worse) it feels like it has a more settled direction and it isn't all over the place. After season 1 a show usually knows what it wants to be and this show definitely knows. I can say I'm actually a fan which is something I thought i would never say. Apart from my friends that liked it (Ez and Harley) the other people I had interacted with that were fans were not the best people to be around and from what I have seen from the Internet the fanbase is very scary. So is undertale and Deltarune and they are both probably my favourite games of all time so....Anyway I liked Hazbin Hotel. It's definitely not for everyone but I enjoy it and that's all that matters Season 2 edit: This might be my favourite thing that I have a fuck ton of issues with but Season 2 was legitimately brilliant. Really entertaining like I was able to fully turn of my mind and be immersed in Hell. One of my favourite characters being very present throughout the whole season definitely helped. Vox made this season such a great villain. The songs were much better than season 1s. Season 1 had a few hand select bangers but I felt like there was atleast a banger in each episode this season usually multiple. My favourites being Love in a bottle, Vox Populi, losing streak and Hazbin Guarantee to name a few (I like the snip snip snip bitch part). My main complaint is that I have to wait till season 3 drops my Wednesdays are gonna feel different now. Also Vizipop please learn how to write women. Considering your a woman yourself please do it for yourself
