The very definition of a classic. Every time I see him walking towards his family in the wheat field I burst into tears. Ridley really had the magic with this one. Russel Crowe is an absolute force. His facial expressions in the first shot of him alone put him above his peers. I wasn't excited for a sequel to begin with but now after watching it again I'm even less excited. No one in that cast is good enough to even be mentioned in the conversation with Crowe in his prime, especially Mescal who they're going to try to make Maximus 2.0. "We Are Free" is one of the best pieces of score of all time btw. Cinema.
