Manhunter
Even better on rewatch. Michael Mann hits EVERY beat on this, taking the distinct look, feel and sound of the 80’s and molding them into an ice cold, expressionistic hellscape for our characters to run around in, perfectly capturing the heavily psychological elements of the plot. While Anthony Hopkins’ Hannibal is still superior, Brian Cox’s grew on me this time around. Also, “Strong As I Am” is this film’s equivalent to Silence of the Lamb’s “Goodbye Horses”. I cannot explain why.
NOT recommended to people who like their movies “timeless”, 100% recommended to people who wanna see one of the coolest, most beautiful and aesthetically inspiring films known to all of mankind.
