The Bourne Identity
this film really does get better with every rewatch. matt damon is just perfect for this role, he doesn’t play a man who’s cold blooded and ruthless, but someone who’s navigating a world he knows nothing about, constantly on the edge of panic while there’s a manhunt out to get him. this makes every burst of violence feel earned and slightly tragic as well. the euro locations, the practical stunts, the absence of flashy tech, it all gives the movie a texture that’s missing from most modern spy stuff. it feels like you’re watching something being built from the ground up. no franchise bloat, no ego. just a man, a mystery, and a whole lot of cold weather.
