Squid Game
i was sick and it was a day after christmas so i already knew i was doing jack shit. I was just hype as fuck to watch squid game season 2.
Let me preface this by saying I watched this and made this review before looking at any criticism about it whatsoever meaning my opinion is not influenced in any way.
I really fucking loved season 2 it was so incredible. The creativity and execution is so incredibly well done I love it all. The acting is amazing again as Lee Jung-Jae delivers a performance as Seong Gi-Hun that is nothing short of emmy worthy, and you end up caring about a lot of side characters in it too (not as much as Ali and Sae-Byeok in the first one, but effective nonetheless). Despite his limited screentime, Gong Yoo is able to deliver a performance nothing short of stellar. I really love everything that this series is able to bring to the table I was already a big fan of season 1 and season 2 just doubles down like crazy.
Minor spoiler territory in the next section
I do believe that ending on a cliffhanger for a series like this is great, considering it's not spiderverse and the actor strike doesn't seem TOO bad in south korea, meaning it will probably come out next year if all goes well.
I have no gripes with it at all. Squid game continues to be the best thing Netflix has put out maybe ever and is probably the only netflix original I will be crazy about. Fuck Outer Banks, fuck Riverdale, FUCK BIG MOUTH, stranger things is cool, so is ozark, fuck Art the Clown. Squid Game remains peak television and I cannot wait for season 3.
