Akira

The visuals of Akira are iconic of course, but what stood out for me this time was the score. The soundtrack, which mixes traditional Japanese Noh with Indonesian gamelan and prog rock, adds so much to the vibe. It somehow fits Akira’s cyberpunk action better than any traditional sci-fi soundtrack could. Love this movie.
