Persona
On my second viewing, I think it is fair to say this is a perfect movie. I could write something deeper about PERSONA’s commentary on celebrity culture, its deconstruction of film as a medium (a ~classic~ move in arthouse cinema), or the way it refracts Jungian psychoanalysis. I could talk about its watertight script where not a line is wasted. I could discuss its austere use of sound. I could analyze its cinematography, a bountiful sequence of inspirations in the style of expressionism.
But the long and short is that PERSONA makes not a single false move. This movie is freaking incredible.
