Inception
For this being a film that stumped a lot of people, I can’t lie I didn’t have that much of an issue understanding it. I felt like they explained it step by step on how dreaming and subconscious worked throughout the film. Maybe I just understand Christopher Nolan films better than most but I’m not too sure.
‘Inception’ is a film that I think is perfectly rated, it’s an abstract idea that pushes the needle on creativity and should be talked about more when it comes to creativity. On top of this I think the execution was perfect. Now the real question is why haven’t I rated this film a perfect 5? Well, there are some time discrepancies within the film, but the big one is Arthur blowing up the elevator, which when you look at it, it took way too long because if they follow the rules that they set, the van would’ve already been in the water by the time that Arthur’s explosives went off. But other than this I don’t have much of an issue with this film, I just think that’s a massive plot hole.
First off the pacing of this film is immaculate, they get you from point A to point B very quickly, there isn’t a dull moment here. On top of this the first 2 acts are straight to the point setting up the 3rd act to get as much time as possible.
Just putting it out there that I like Trailer Park Boys and I was very happy to see Elliot Page have a decent performance here and get into a massive movie. Other acting performances I mean Leonardo DiCaprio was fantastic like always. Jeff Hardy was great and Joseph Gordon Levitt I thought had a really really good performance, although he was very under utilized.
Last point is the CGI and set design of this film is done really well. Especially the CGI I mean for how abstract of an idea this film is the CGI has to be perfect and it was here.
Finally I think this is a very well done film that should be talked about even more than it has been before.
