Inception

Christopher Nolan does it time after time. He might be the defining director of his generation. An ambitious concept that many filmmakers would struggle to pull off is presented to the audience in manageable pieces, making a complex idea surprisingly easy to follow. Of all of Nolan’s films, this might be his most unhinged. Inception takes its central premise and pushes it as far as it can possibly go. The film is relentlessly entertaining, packed with action while never losing sight of its characters. Cobb’s conflict surrounding his wife is pure genius, adding an emotional layer that gives the story real weight and constantly drives it forward. Everything here is executed at an elite level. The performances are outstanding, the cinematography is stunning, and the score elevates every major moment. This is exactly why Nolan is my favorite director. A must-watch sci-fi film.
