My expectations for this film were scarcely high after watching the first trailer back in September of last year and I can happily say that all of my expectations were exceeded in the best way possible. Being a fan of Coogler’s* previous work that he has done with Micheal B. Jordan*, I knew I was going to be a fan of the finished product regardless. But I had no idea that Coogler’s first entry into the horror world of cinema would end up being one of my new favourite films. From start to finish, I was mesmerized by what I was watching. Every single sequence that came before me was truly breathtaking. The music, performances, visuals, literally everything had me astonished and craving more. SINNERS had me ridiculed with anxiety practically the entire time by how frightening and beautiful **it was, and I seriously can’t get over what I just watched. Movie of the fucking year.
