The Da Vinci Code

Sophie: "Who is God and who is man? How many have been murdered over this question?" Leigh: "As long as there has been one true God, there has been killing in his name." The Da Vinci Code definitely still holds up as a true favourite of mine and will always hold a special place in my heart as the film that made me fall in love with cinema. While some of the dialogue is a bit clunky and Audrey Tautou's acting is a bit questionable at times, I love the movie for all it's flaws and the many more things it gets right. The beautiful score, the ending that is still the best I have ever seen, the incredible story that grips you by the scruff of the neck and takes you on one of the greatest journeys that crosses the boundaries of fiction and fact unlike anything ever put to screen. Overall, The Da Vinci Code is a film that divides many and is light years away from any critic's best movies of all time list. However, it is one of my favourites and that will never change.
