Spider-Man
Honestly, what is there to say about this movie.
It’s what started my love for movies in general. I watched it 100+ times on VHS as a kid but it has probably been 14+ years since I gave it a rewatch where I really paid attention and let it wash over me.
I’m now reminded why it is by far my favorite movie of all time.
Saw this in a theater tonight and was taken back to the downstairs living of my childhood home for two hours. Few things mean more to me than this movie. On the drive home, tears welled up in my eyes a couple times.
The movie is genuinely a (nostalgia driven, admittedly) masterpiece. Teenage characters that (maybe don’t fully look like, but) actually act like teenagers. A superhero movie that feels completely different from the overproduced overly quippy marvel movies we get now.
I drove 30 minutes to see this and paid $30 to see this and the rest of the 8 live action Spider-Man movies but I would have driven 3 hours and paid $500.
PS: I’d die for prime Kirsten Dunst. I’d scalp a baby just for her to look in my cardinal direction.
