Watched in IMAX A deep dive into the origins and superstitions around blues, rock, and the supposed connections between music and the devil. Coogler did his homework and it truly shows in the historical accuracy, with displaced Irishmen and Chinese grocers along the Mississippi Delta being some of my favorite details. Unreal vampirism that's just horrifying; the red glow, makeup, lighting, tension, everything. I'm just blown away by the design, and already need a rewatch because of how much historical goodness there is to unpack. The music in Sinners practically solidifies an ongoing generational run of film scores from Göransson, too. It doesn’t get fresher than this.
