Review of collectors edition 4k extended cut at home.
Peak cinema, not perfect but amazing, a colional, psychedelic, war modern masterpiece. Dialouge is pulpy, the metaphors grand, the heart strong. Without the 3D or imax this is still a great story, and combines everything I love about films, visually and conceptually. The structure of the dream to reality, as the lines are blurred, the disabled marine becoming skinnier but stronger in his other body is just insane. Simple yet layered beautiful storytelling. Without the added backstory this is a 4 though. The extended edition is definitive way to watch James Cameron's vision come to life.
