Inglourious Basterds
I’ve always maintained, from my first viewing of this film, that Inglorious Basterds is a masterpiece, through and through, but on this viewing, I think I enjoyed it even more than previous viewings.
Maybe it’s just that as you get older, you start to pick up on the more subtle nuances of a film, but I was absolutely locked in watching this, and it’s hard not to be. The thing that I think makes Quentin Tarantino such a good storyteller is his ability to thrive in the unknown, he doesn’t give you all the answers, he lets the audience piece together the puzzle in their mind, effectively crafting a different viewing experience for every viewer.
Christoph Waltz is so fucking good man, the fact that this was his first Hollywood movie and he was this good in it is mind boggling.
