Election

Had this on while I was solving a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle from 12am to 2am! This became an instant favorite the first time I saw it. I didn’t really watch ~watch~ the movie this time, but man it’s just so impossible to not be pulled into it for at least one scene. This really is just such a wicked force of a movie. When Tammy Metzler says, “It's not like I'm a lesbian or anything. I'm attracted to the person. It's just that all the people I've been attracted to happen to be girls,” with such exasperation, it’s enough to make me cry from laughing 😭 and the scene where all three president aspirants are praying??? Dear Lord 😭😭😭  I love everything about this film so much. Reese Witherspoon is a delight, Matthew Broderick is immensely punchable, and the screenplay is one of the best I’ve ever seen play out.
