Zodiac
There’s a lot to unpack in this film, let alone in the case itself. While it’s clear how difficult it was to track the Zodiac Killer, the film also presents compelling evidence pointing toward one main suspect. Still, the most striking takeaway for me was the idea that the Zodiac Killer may not have been just one person. It feels like the case eventually became a tangled web multiple killings, people imitating the crimes, and others inserting themselves into the narrative, possibly without even knowing each other.
Cinematically, the film shines in how it tells the story. Rather than spoon-feeding the audience, it keeps you on edge, piecing together clues as if you’re part of the investigation. It’s tragic that we may never know the true identity of the Zodiac Killer but maybe, in some strange way, that’s for the better.
