holy. shit! one of the most gorgeous films i have EVER seen. the scene in the bombed out city with the flares is so beautiful i couldn’t pull my eyes away from it. i spent most of the film trying to pick out where the cuts were located, and i think i only found one. the usage of long takes is amazing. similarly, the set dressing is absolutely fantastic and looks so realistic. the acting is top-notch, and they had to work around the constraint of the extremely long takes, so it’s extra impressive. the music absolutely enlightens this to the next level. anyways. war is bad. this is one of the best movies i’ve seen.
