Corpse Bride
By far the most beautiful Tim Burton stop-motion film I have ever seen.I really can't imagine the effort it took to actually make this "totally hidden underrated gem" a real thing.
The film's animation is so clean and beautiful that you literally get lost in the somewhat gothic and dark plot of the film, which I have recently started to admire. All this in just 1 hour and 17 minutes...I really think Tim Burton with Mike Johnson probably cooked one of the most beautiful stop motion movie ever.
But to tell the truth, the film had several flaws which obviously disappointed me(always personally).First of all,the voice acting of the movie was not what I expected and I admit it disappointed me.I really don't think it's possible for such a movie with casting like:Johnny Depp,Helen Bonham Carter,Emily Watson, the legend of this genre Christopher Lee and my broski Michael Gough, you literally have the perfect casting for such a movie how is it possible to be so average and just good in the voice acting section?!Too bad there is no Greek dubbing for this one really it would be better with the greek version ...
Continuing, the plot of the movie as well as the ending itself was very interesting and quite entertaining to me.I certainly couldn't lose interest in such a short film, which was later verified.
The soundtrack of the movie was SIMPLY AMAZING,I honestly have no words for the chills that many, many scenes gave me, especially the scenes with the piano, for example Viktor's piano solo scene, just watch this one I have no words, really amazing and beautiful soundtrack for such an underrated film...My bro Danny Elfman once again showed his talent in this kind of movies.
The script of the film as well as the environments of it were quite good and not as good as I would have expected...after all, movies like this are made for the screenplay writers such as John August,Caroline Thompson and more more.I expected it to be much better at least in the environments criteria which were quite dark and a bit more gothic than I expected.
Summarizing,"The corpse bride " is in fact a very underrated and probably one of the most beautiful and interesting movies from the director Tim Burton...Really if you haven't seen it check it out without saying you have to see "Frankenweenie" and "Nightmare before Christmas" as a trilogy believe me you won't get a kick out of it.Yes, I recommend it to someone to see it, even if they are not a fan of the particular director, the film is beautiful both visually and acoustically. For a 2005 film, this one is by far the most interesting animated film of that year.
