Fast Five

I’ve watched and rewatched this film countless times. I keep giving it a higher rating, and not necessarily based on quality. I feel confident giving this film the same rating as something incredible like Beau Travail or Mulholland Drive because I adore this film. This is the best franchise of all time, it holds it heart on its sleeve and doesn’t miss. The action filmmaking is fantastic, the stilted goofy dialogue is fun, the ridiculous lines from the Rock and Vin, just everything works. I can’t stress enough how enjoyable I find the Fast and the Furious films, and this is the pinnacle of the films in some ways. It’s the movie that changes the franchise from a bunch of car movies to an 80s action hero team. These are the better avengers. Ones that have character, that change over the years. This is gold and I don’t care what anyone else says.
