Interstellar
"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
Yes. Oh yes. The IMAX experience is what I truly needed to grasp this film. For those of you who don’t know, Interstellar has been my favorite film ever since I watched it at home and I always wondered how good it would be on the big screen. Well, it re-released 10 years later and this was the best and my favorite theatre experience ever.
Yeah, The Dark Knight and Oppenheimer are great films but this is truly where Nolan reached his peak with direction, cinematography and sound design (I fucking love you Hans Zimmer). Not a single frame of this film was wasted, from the barren cornfields full of dust to the plethora of colors inside the wormhole. Even though I had watched this countless times, deep inside I felt like a kid again, wondrously curious about space and time. Three hours flew by and I genuinely did not want to get up from my seat.
Thank you Nolan, thank you. This is cinema in its full glory.
