Sinners

“Maybe once a week I wake up paralyzed, reliving that night. But before the sun went down, I think that was the best day of my life.” *… *“Was it like that for you?” - I wanted to re watch one of the best picture nominees before the Oscars tonight. I decided to go with sinners because of how much it’s become a potential award favorite recently. I think Sinners is a masterpiece, and have enjoyed it every single watch. Sinners contemporary cultural importance has only made me appreciate its impact. The score is one of the most unique of the decade, and an undoubted lock for best score at the Oscars.  However, I still want a Paul Thomas Anderson sweep in the major categories. Sinners is brilliant, but One Battle after Another is generational. It’s time for one of the best directors ever to get his Oscar, I’m sorry that this brilliant masterpiece came out the same year. 96/100
