“Don’t try to understand it, feel it.”
Holy shit. This movie was fucking insane and awesome. For the first 30 minutes, I was a little confused with the plot and all of the characters, but when 35 mins in hit and I was listening to that dope ass OST when they were going into the airport was so fucking cool man. Every little thing started to clear up with the characters, like it’s almost exactly what Christopher Nolan intended (which I think he sort of did).
I can appreciate every little thing in this movie, from the cinematography, such as the aspect ratio moving in that one scene depending on if you’re looking through the protagonist’s eyes, or a set scene showcasing the setting. I can also appreciate the soundtrack, because even though it’s so simple, it’s all complex songs at the same time (Kudos for having Travis Scott as the ending credits as well). One thing that I loved the most in this movie though, would be the color grading, such as Blue for backwards in time, and Red for forwards in time. Such a creative concept and Christopher Nolan really knocked it out of the park.
The only reason I’m giving this a 4 1/2 instead of a five is the fact that it’s obviously not for everyone. It’s confusing, and hard to understand if you aren’t paying much attention to every little detail in the scenes that try to give you exposition as to what’s going on. I also think I’ve given this a 4 1/2 out of 5 is because of the chance for rewatching this movie. This movie was purposefully made (in my opinion) to be watched multiple times, because the movie technically starts at the end, not even in the beginning. So many things get cleared up on the rewatch. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this movie and I’ll recommend it to anyone that likes to think a little while watching a movie.
