Obsession
Obsession is one of those films that explore a very specific thing; this movie explored the double meanings of wishes and how a wrong wording could change the entire course of your life. Bear wasn't careful about his; he wanted her to be obsessed with him but didn't specify how obsessed. He was craving dominance and control over Nikki but instead got a codependent and "can't live without you" type of partner. (which is kind of the same)
I saw some reviews here stating that the movie is merely a "crazy ex-girlfriend story," but that is not an accurate representation. It's about a guy literally being selfish and wishing for control over a girl. It literally has the same vibes as 'About Time,' a movie that I despise so much in which both girls are being exploited, but it's of course different from it. Obsession made the man CRAZY by showing him all the crazy shit; in this one, the man's decision backfired so badly that the only way to get out of it is literally by dying.
Congratulations to Bear for successfully getting out of that situation; wow, killing yourself was soooo easy. And now real Nikki gets to face all those horrible things that she didn't choose. I wish Bear died slowly, painfully, and gruesomely.
Another alternate universe idea is when Nikki gets a mind of her own and snaps that one wish to make Bear obsessed with her too.
