Shutter Islandedea9.7· April 21, 2025Followi'm literally going insane. is there a twist or not? is teddy really andrew, a man who killed his wife after she killed their children, and created new identities for both of them because he couldn't accept it? and even though he only killed one person, he was the most dangerous patient for some reason?? and for SOME reason, the entire hospital decided to just let the most dangerous patient loose and play along with him for a while? but after finding out, he accepted the truth for the moment, and then he couldn't anymore and went back to the fake "teddy" person? OR did he not? he understood what happened, who was killed, that he went insane, but kept going with the teddy persona (despite knowing that it wasn't the truth) just because it was easier to bear? was it easier for him to be lobotomized rather than to face the truth? was the lighthouse just a lighthouse? OR was it not? was he actually close to discovering a truth about the hospital? did the entire staff and everyone behind the experiments feel threatened after finding out someone was onto them, so they lured him into the island, planted those stories about insane patients into his brain so that in the end they could make it seem like it ALL would fit together perfectly with "reality"? and IF that's the case, was rachel truly a psychiatrist who found out the truth, hid and told teddy everything? or was she also planted to tell him the truth in plain sight, just to make him ultimately go to the lighthouse and "find out the truth"? and IF that's the case, was chuck planted all along, just to follow teddy around, control and manipulate him? or was he actually his partner, who ultimately was threatened/bribed?? see i'm not joking when i say i'm going INSANE, i won't be sleeping tonight that's for sure!CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the appSee all edea's reviews for Shutter Island (2)First watch9.7April 21, 2025Rewatch 19.7June 6, 2025
