Aftersun
Not an ounce of exposition. A film that trusts its viewer to get there without giving them any hints. This movie is masterfully made, and Charlotte Wells is elite with pacing and camera placement. If you are a fan of slow cinema, you understand why this movie should be considered right in the mix with Jean Dielman and A Bright Summer Day. It is a modern slow cinema masterpiece. You don’t realize until the very last scene what movie you are watching but it all floods in and hits you in an overwhelming manner. God damn this thing is beautiful.
