Lady Bird

I don’t cry at movies, it’s not something I ever do and in fact I’ve only done it twice before and I thought I wasn’t going to cry at this movie and that it’d played all it’s emotional trump cards, I almost cried twice when she visits Julie in her prom dress and when Danny cries in her arms but the scene where she finds her mothers letters in her suitcase absolutely ruined me, this movie has such a brutal understanding of what it means to be human and that everyone is flawed, not in a Disney channel original way but in a viscerally human way because people throughout this movie do shitty things but not once are you ever expected to see them as lesser, they’re just a little bit fucked up like we all are
