Ran

This might actually be the best use of colour I have ever seen in a film. Only Kurosawa could could make a normal film in colour seem like something completely new. The battle scenes in this film were like nothing I’ve ever seen, the scale of them were so big and bloody it almost felt like I was watching a real samurai battle going on, the acting was absolutely incredible and the cinematography was the best I’ve ever seen from Kurosawa so far.  (I feel like I’m gonna say that a lot when I watch more of his filmography)
