About Time
And so it begins. Lots and lots of types of days.
Life affirming and beautiful. Has to be Richard Curtis’ magnum opus. The cast is just stellar. The details I noticed this time round, whether it’s the Amelie poster in Tim’s bedroom or the montage in the subway that tracks the development of Tim and Mary’s relationship. I’m surprised this montage is not mentioned more, since it’s practically very similar to the Notting Hill montage as Hugh Grant’s character ‘walks’ through the different seasons. There’s so many great transitions that show time travel that’s subtle yet clear visually. I’ve grown to love Tim and his father’s relationship, there’s such a tenderness there thanks to the charisma of Billy Nighy. A classic through and through. Never gets old.
