Arrival
nothing can be changed, things are always gonna happen in one way no matter what we do.
she accepted it, she knew what was gonna happen but still wanted to live it.
“So, Hannah... This is where your story begins. The day they departed. Despite knowing the journey... and where it leads... I embrace it. And I welcome every moment of it."
Amy Adams’ performance and how the movie had a brighter color palette in the shots with her daughter, seriously fooled me into thinking they were flashbacks.
i loved the fact that this didn’t only talk about how to communicate with aliens, but involves so many type of communications: Louise and Ian look at the world in different ways so they have to use examples to make understand each other’s perspective, the governments that had different philosophies due to the different cultures made it difficult to communicate with each other about the heptapods’ intentions.
*"Language is the foundation of civilization.
**It is the glue that holds people together.
*It is the first weapon drawn in a conflict."
talking about them, the heptapods, they’re such a magnificent invention i wish they were real. they came to earth with 12 shells knowing that they needed the collaboration of the whole world (kinda like if they knew that there is more than one person who commands) and since their thinking and their perspective on time isn’t linear they did all this foreseeing the help it would give them to communicate with humans in the future if everyone had already studied their "language".
*“We're so bounded by time, by its order.
**But now I am not so sure I believe in beginnings and endings.
**There are days that define your story beyond your life.
*Like the day they arrived.”
