Before Sunset
Is anyone surprised to see me here
I think an underrated tenant of these films is it's camera work, which understandably gets pushed aside to admire the incredible screenplay, dialogue, and acting. But just as important is the way these conversations are framed. Lee Daniel's cinematography manages to be up close and personal, and making clear choices of who it captures, while simultaneously being so unobtrusive and allowing the viewer to melt into this world. You feel so together with the characters, like the camera is giving you a space to silently view, or to enter that dialogue with them.
