YUPPPPP Undeniably Bong's magnum opus. Takes from everything that came before it but expands on those elements in such genius ways. The beautifully designed house that's so central to the entire story representing the system everyone is so trapped in, both literally and metaphorically. To become "free," the Kims have to become the people they once despised, playing into the hands of the rich to join them. Song Kang-ho giving my all-time favorite performance of his in such a deeply layered character. Someone who's failed so many times, but in doing so has learned the rules of success. Everything is so sharp and clever and meticulously planned, with truly amazing performances all around, and a score that fucking kills. Every action is purposeful and effects something else. Cause and effect in the world of capitalism; to rise, someone else needs to fall. Goddddd I fucking love this movie
