I've always been pretty confident on The Social Network being Fincher's best but MAN this movie puts up a good fight. So methodical and exacting. The ways he goes about detailing obsession is phenomenal, and this whole film takes on so much more depth when you draw connections to Fincher himself. How his desire to get the perfect shot consumes his filming process (doing 30 takes of a hand throwing a notebook down), seeing exactly what he wants from a frame and getting it no matter the cost (digitally adding individual hairs on Jake Gyllenhaal's hand), his obsessing over remastering and reworking his films so they're exactly as he intended them to be (digitally removing a speck of dust on a pair of glasses in his Se7en remaster). Also it should be noted that Chloë Sevigny is insanely gorgeous in this!!
