Django Unchained
Every single word that came out of Calvin Candie's mouth was nothing but horseshit, but he was right about one thing: I am that one nig in ten thousand**
HELL FUCKING YEAH HELL FUCKING YEAH HELL FUCKING YEAAH. Instant top 4 for me damn i never watched a Tarantino movie before but shit this was so fucking cool man removed suspiria imediatly cause to be honest when i rewatched it i didnt enjoyed it that much i just didnt know what to replace it but now i fucking now man this was so fucking cool i fucking loved this so fucking much man only reason i watched it was because I noticed that my favorite movie from 2012 was impossible and i only gave it 4 stars so i knew i had to fix that shit asap and i was expecting a 4 and a half for this especially becaus eit is so fucking long but FUCK THAT shit wasnt bored a single fucking time part of that is probally because this feels nostalgic in a way because the setting and the people remind me of my favoirte gam red dead redemption 2 i tought people were only joking when they said this was like it but man this really is like that i have no doubt this movie inspired red dead redemtpion for example when the gang in Red Dead pull up to that mansion in that shot it looks exactly like the shot of Calvins funeral and that bloody massacre was obivously also a reference expect django was a one man show but i have no doubt artur morgan would clean them all up alone too and that candyland plantation in mississipi i have literally rided in there and killed so many people there so many times i know those parts better than i know my own city this movie really made me want to replay red dead redemption tbh
Honestly like mosyt movies i love i have no fucking ideia where to even start maybe ill start by the acting that was perfect or the director that was fucking amazing too i guess i get it why this movie was controversial i mean there is a big and i mean BIG use of n words i searched it up and it was said ONE HUNDRED times thats crazy and yea the movie depicts slavery and those times as realisticly as they were i dont see a problem with that thats just how it was but if this came out today lots of actors in this like Leonardo di caprio would probally end up being cancelled but honestly i have heard the n word being said more times in my class than in here so idc. Tarantino directed the fuck out of this he is the cool ass director everyone want s to be he plays this with such eas and it feels so cool and funny at times eveyrthing in this had such a specific style that i guess its tarantinos style but he also didnt go easy when playing the more brutal and realistic parts he depicted slavery in a thrown in your face way and i ended up feeeling bad for the girl from how long those scenes were and how sad they were black people getting eaten by dogs in such a careless way was kinda funny ngl maybe because how dicaprio played it but still made me feel bad by the fact that these is even considered normal for hundreds of years and also made me feel really nervous for Django because of how clearly he was being judjed and how easy it felt for any of those guys to just shoot him in the head and tarantinos is the guy to go there the guy helepd making the good hostel movies so i was really tense for django
What probally made that happen was the acting too everyone was great too ill start by Jamie foxx obviously he is the arthur morgan of this and a singular epitome of human revenge not very complex but Foxx is absolutely perfecr for this role cant believe this role was almost given to will smith e has a level of vulnerability that makes scenes where he must “stay in character” around candie so fucking annoying for the audience or atleast for me and also nervous cause you never know if he will end up snapping and revealing himself way to soon and he also knows how to kick ass when he has to like i said before he reminded me of arthur morgan cause both are cool af and know how to shoot hes incredible in this and knows how to play both the emotional scenes and the cool ones. and then there is dicaprio he is evil but not normal evil that reveleas himself his smile annoys us because you can always tell he is planning some evil shit but always plays so nice that ALMOST make syou question if he actually sympathizes with django he obviously doenst and di caprio knew how to leave us little hints here and there in the way he acts and looks at django hes a pure racist and i liked a moment that i cant mention where he realises he is a fan of a black person and he just has this pure look of weakness and desperation on his face. And Christoph Waltz was nice in this too i didn fully like hima t first becaus ehe simply doenst show mercy or a soul to anyone if he wants someone dead and theres a reward they die and thats simply it but he also despises slavery and acted really symapthetic with the slaves in there so he was nice a 50/50 probally but i liked him
Also the settings and locations were also beautiful not mcuh to say about them other than that tbh they looked amazing and the movie had such cool cinematography too. Tarantino really knows how too walk the line between offensive and entertaining he really has a unique style that lowkey reminded me of eli rothits starngly hilarious at times when it has scenes that we really shouldnt find funny but atleast i did and its so brutal too wich i always enjoyed i heard about how gory his movies were so i was maybe expeting a bit more blood but still waas gry af the massacre scenes where my favorite where in every frame a new bloody gross bullet wound appeared and i was sad when tarantino blew up and we didnt even have a slow motion close up of it or when nobody had their head smashed with a hammer cause it feeled like they hyped that up way to much also was hoping to see some guts spilling but nevertheless it was still so fucking entertaining im always shocked how i dont get bored to long ass mvoies like this even the begginingwas already quick we had a fucking head blowing up verything in this was so fun porbally the most boring part only lasted a few minutes of this and it wasnt even that boring and the movie has its morals too in my opinion i thik this movie has a huge repulsion towards slavery someting people refused to look back and aknoledge how bad those times were but tarantino wasnt afraid of looking back at those times he way head into the story way to realistically and controversially using a fuck ton of n words but i really think this wasnt in a offensive way but yes in a way to show people how natural it was and how wrong it was to act like that in those times
It also kind of felt like a tribute to old western movies i have never fully saw one but when i was a kid i saw plently of scenes of them on tv the dramatic zooms or even the text in the middle of the movie telling us what happened o r the font style had the feeling of it the style of them its a seamless western in its color pallete and design and i loved this i did but obviosuly i have to point out its little flaws but i fucking loved this first off the movie ill admit altough not that much boring for me i still think it is a little bit to long some scenes could have been shorter and others not even being there at all the dialogue also felt extended for pure enjoyment of the actors but didnt really add anything to the overall plot of this movie and thats probally the only thing i can think about right now cause i really fucking enjoyed it beautifully filmed and perfeclt acted a period piece and a rom com too a very cool stylish filmmaking very gory altough not s much as i expected cool explosions cool kills cool characteres to resume this HELL FUCKING YEA.
